Lake Protector Summit - Lake George Association

This year’s Lake Protector Summit on Friday, June 14, 2024, 8:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. at Camp Chingachgook is designed for residents, visitors, and businesses who love, rely on, and want to protect Lake George.

During the free event you’ll learn about significant threats to Lake George, what the LGA and other local organizations are doing to safeguard the Lake, and actions you can take to keep the Lake clear and clean.

During the event, we’ll explore:

  • The looming threat of the invasive hemlock woolly adelgid bug that threatens our watershed forests
  • The Jefferson Project and how technology and big data will help preserve water quality
  • The latest science on harmful algal blooms
  • The negative effects of stormwater pollution as well as mitigation projects on both private and public land
  • Why increasing chloride is bad for the Lake and how you can reduce your winter salt application
  • What you can do to help mitigate these water quality threats

After presentations, you will have the opportunity to meet and engage with subject experts and LGA staff.
