6:00 PM - 7:00 PM
6:00 - 7:00 pm - John Collins Memorial Lecture: Wintering: The Nature of Resilience in Landscape
The paintings in this body of work, Wintering, examine the metaphorical connection between nature, my personal wintering, and my experiences of the sublime. Through the materiality and language of paint, light, and subject matter, grief is reconciled; hope and resilience prevail. Historical comparisons and research of artists who have painted Northern winter landscapes deepen my connection with my genre and role as an Adirondack landscape painter. The intention of this body of work is for the audience to find a personal connection to their own wintering through the lens of nature and with that connection, find hope and resiliency of their own.
This program is free.
