Cost of the workshop is $60, this includes material fees.
Participants will create a mini-book using one sheet of paper. Pages will be filled with cut dresses made from used tea bags, found imagery and beautiful papers, to create a 4.25 x 2.75 mini book. Bring a pair of scissors and, if you wish, any vintage paper or collage materials in sepia shades that are meaningful to you. All other supplies will be provided. Join us and impress yourself!
Ruby Silvious is internationally recognized for her miniature paintings and collages on the used tea bag. She is the author of 363 Days of Tea: A Visual Journal on Used Teabags, and Reclaimed Canvas: Reimagining the Familiar. Her paintings on tea bags, some inspired by her art residences and travels around the world, have been featured in numerous publications including CNN Travel, Vogue Italia, Cosmopolitan China, Disney Malaysia, The Guardian, Der Spiegel, Good Morning America/ABC News, National Geographic Kids, and the internationally syndicated Ripleys Believe it or Not.
The Festival Commons at Charles R. Wood Park, located at the southern end of historic Lake George, is an ideal location for your next event. With panoramic views of “The Queen of American Lakes,” event-goers can also take advantage of all that Lake George has to offer in terms of activities and sight-seeing, all within a very short walk from the grounds. The beauty and proximity of The Festival Commons at Charles R. Wood Park in Lake George offers something unique for each season and every occasion.
This facility is available to rent for your event and includes the following amenities: Three picnic pavilions, handicapped accessible public restrooms.horse coral, RV electric and water (no septic) and outdoor lighting.
The Cool Insuring Arena, a 4794 seat multi-purpose facility, is the home of the Adirondack Thunder, a professional hockey team that plays in the ECHL.
