9:00 am - 4:00 pm - Take a scenic chairlift ride to the top of West Mountain, and enjoy stunning views of the Adirondack and Vermont Mountains, and the Hudson River Valley region. A scenic chairlift ride is the perfect way to get a birds-eye view of the surrounding area. Relax and enjoy the sights and sounds of Mother Nature as you gracefully soar to the summit of West Mountain. Once you arrive at the top, you can hike on the mixed-use cross-country bike trails including the “Crow’s Nest” trail that will take you to the amazing Scenic Hudson River Valley Overlook. Hikers can then take the chairlift back down to the base area or follow the “Slideshow” trail down the mountain to the Base Lodge. Hikers can hike on the regular ski trails with their RFID Access card. Order your picnic lunch in advance on our website and we'll have a picnic basket ready for you to take to the summit.
The Festival Commons at Charles R. Wood Park, located at the southern end of historic Lake George, is an ideal location for your next event. With panoramic views of “The Queen of American Lakes,” event-goers can also take advantage of all that Lake George has to offer in terms of activities and sight-seeing, all within a very short walk from the grounds. The beauty and proximity of The Festival Commons at Charles R. Wood Park in Lake George offers something unique for each season and every occasion.
This facility is available to rent for your event and includes the following amenities: Three picnic pavilions, handicapped accessible public restrooms.horse coral, RV electric and water (no septic) and outdoor lighting.
The Cool Insuring Arena, a 4794 seat multi-purpose facility, is the home of the Adirondack Thunder, a professional hockey team that plays in the ECHL.
