Lake George Battlefield Park Alliance Members:
Check out the preeminent French & Indian War historian George A. Bray III on this week's "Lake George Battlefield Moments" podcast as he discusses Lord George Augustus Viscount Howe's service in the Lake George-Lake Champlain region before his untimely death in the Battle of Carillon (1758). It's the first of a 2-part focus on the eldest of the 3 brothers who played such important roles for the British during the transformative 18th Century conflicts in North America.
And don't forget to register, if you haven't already done so, for

MORE NEWS!
We are happy to preview a series of events that the Alliance is presenting on December 12 at Lake George to honor the 250th anniversary of Henry Knox's Noble Artillery Train. The Warren County Commission for the 250th Anniversary of the American Revolution is co-sponsoring. As can be seen in the attached flyer, there will be indoor and outdoor activities that day, including a re-enactment of Knox landing at the head of Lake George and repairing by horse-drawn cart to Fort George, where he actually stayed in December 1775. There will also be opportunities to meet and listen to Pulitzer Prize-winning historian Rick Atkinson as part of afternoon and evening programs. (One caveat: details on the day's schedule haven't been posted on our website yet, so please ignore that reference on the flyer for now.)
Our December 12 events will kick off progressive activities that weekend sponsored by our partners in Washington, Saratoga, Albany and Rensselaer Counties. A rack card developed by the 5 counties is also attached for your reference. You'll receive many more details in the coming months, but please circle your calendars now to be sure you don't miss these landmark events in our region's celebration of America's birth 250 years ago!
