About the teaching artist Althea Pestine-Stevens: Fiber arts have been part of Altheas life from an early age starting with their grandmother and mother crocheting family blankets and other goods. As a needle felter, Althea is often inspired by walks in nature and phenomena in outer space. Largely self-taught, Altheas needle felting has won awards at multiple galleries, including the Albany Center Gallery and The R Gallery at Arlenes Artist Materials.
