Kicks Off 2025 Autumn Sunday Stroll Season!
The Saratoga Springs Preservation Foundation is thrilled to announce
that this years Autumn Sunday Strolls will take place from September 14 to October 19. These
historic walking tours will be offered every Sunday at 10:30AM in various neighborhoods
throughout the city. Tours highlight the Gut neighborhood, mail-order houses on the East Side,
the diverse history of the West Side, mansions of North Broadway, and much more.
Join the Foundation for the first of six exciting tours of historic Saratoga Springs with the stroll
Mail Order Houses of Saratoga on Sunday, September 14 at 10:30AM. Join Madison C.
Squires for a stroll through both East and Pinewood avenues as he highlights the Kit House
era of home buying and construction. This tour meets at the NW corner of East and Lake
Avenues.

The Market Bar and Café at Franklin Square Market. All Sunday morning tours last
approximately 90 minutes and require walking and standing on varied terrain. Tours will be
limited to thirty and tickets must be purchased in advance. The cost per tour is $15 for SSPF

and Jewish families who made important contributions to the community. This stroll is generously

Historic Congress Park
Join Gloria May on a guided walking tour of Congress Park, where you will discover the historical
significance of Saratoga Springs. The parks sculptures and monuments commemorate prominent
figures, and its development is intertwined with our citys renowned springs. The motto of Health,
Horses, and History is embodied in this place. During the tour, you will learn about the lives of John
Morrissey, Spenser Trask, Edgar Brackett, and Ellen Hardin Walworth. You may discover hidden
treasures that you have passed by daily without noticing. This stroll is generously sponsored by
Circular Manor Bed and Breakfast.
This tour meets at the Brackett gates entrance to Congress Park.

Wealth & Wellness: Franklin Square
Stroll leader Carrie Woerner, NYS Assemblywoman and former Saratoga Springs Preservation
Foundation Executive Director, will highlight historic Franklin Square, Saratogas oldest residential
neighborhood, during the Summer Sunday Stroll Wealth & Wellness: Franklin Square. Today, it is a
veritable showcase of American architectural history. This stroll is generously sponsored by
Impressions of Saratoga.
This tour meets at the northwest corner of Division Street and Railroad Place.

Summer Cottages of North Broadway
Led by Executive Director, Samantha Bosshart, this stroll highlights the architecture and entertaining
stories of those who built and resided in these grand residences. This tour meets at the northwest
corner of North Broadway and Van Dam Street in front of Witt Construction.

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 19, 2025, 10:30AM
Historic West Side
Join George DeMers as he highlights the diverse historic west side neighborhood where Saratoga
Springs Irish and Italian immigrants and Black community lived. The tour will highlight the settlement
of this neighborhood, its rebirth as an arts district, and the rehabilitations that took place in the early
2000s. In addition to highlighting the historic architecture of this area, George will discuss the history
of its residents, restaurants, stores, and clubs as well as the impacts of Urban Renewal and
revitalization efforts.
The tour meets at the entrance of Gideon Putnam Burying Ground, located on south Franklin Street.
