An Afternoon with a Gibson Girl

9097 State Rt. 30 : 9097 State Rt. 30, Blue Mt. Lake, NY  12812

2:00 PM - 3:00 PM

Spend the afternoon with the story of Adirondack poet Jeanne Robert Foster in a 45-minute one-woman show illuminating her life and work.

A model for Charles Dana Gibson’s celebrated “Gibson Girls,” Foster’s story reaches far beyond the photographs that defined a generation’s ideal of beauty–from humble beginnings in the Adirondacks to the literary salons of Paris and beyond.

This performance is included with museum admission and will take place at the Marion River Carry Pavilion. Seating for 40 guests will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, with standing room available as well. Punch will be served. Bring your finest parasol and enjoy an afternoon discovering the story of this remarkable Adirondack woman.
