A Revolutionary Event Walking Weekend

Celebrate the 50th Anniversary of America’s Walking Club with a multi-day walking festival, “Walk the Story that Changed the World,” hosted by the Empire State Capital Volkssporters Walking Club.

This unique event invites the community and visitors from across the country to explore Revolutionary War battle sites through guided and self-paced walks across the region.

The Georgian Resort, Lake George

$4 per walk

?? Walk Options:

  • 5K & 10K routes
  • Guided or self-paced
  • Open to all fitness levels

??? Event Schedule Highlights:

Saturday, May 16 – Johnstown
Historic British trading post & military site with reenactments and parade
?? 9:00 AM – 11:30 AM start window

Sunday, May 17 – Crown Point
Bridge walk, ruins, scavenger hunt & commemorative coin
?? Guided walks at 10:00 AM

Sunday, May 17 – Fort Ticonderoga
Walk at one of the most significant colonial fortresses
?? Walk anytime

Sunday, May 17 – Ticonderoga Hamlet
Explore local landmarks including the Star Trek Museum
?? Guided walks at 1:30 PM

Monday, May 18 – Schuylerville
Saratoga surrender site (Turning Point of the Revolution)
?? Guided walk at 10:00 AM

Tuesday, May 19 – Lake George Village
Battlefield Park & shoreline route
?? Guided walk at 9:00 AM

Wednesday, May 20 – Round Lake
Historic Methodist camp community
?? Guided walk at 9:00 AM


Participants may register online through the ESCV website or on-site at each walk.

This event is part of a national celebration bringing together walkers from over 20 states to experience history, community, and wellness.
