The birds are swooping and chirping all over the North Country and
Tannery Pond Center is honoring them with a rich variety of programs in June.
A For the Birds weekend, June 12-13, will include a Paint and Sip event, a birdhouse
building workshop, a talk exploring bird mating tactics, a movie about a bird identification
contest between three novices, and an information table by the Southern Adirondack
Audubon Society.
Backdropping all of this throughout June will be an exhibit of painted gourds, carvings, and
photographs of birds of every feather in the community centers North Creek lobby. Three
artists will be featured: Tim Sauter, Ken Raiser, and Jill Swinton.
For the Birds is a new event for us with lots of unique offerings, said Candice Murray,
Tannery Ponds executive director. We hope you can join us and admire our feathered
friends.
While all events are free (except Sip and Paint, which is a fundraiser), reservations are
highly recommended because seating is limited at some events. Reservations can be made
