Siege Week at Fort William Henry
Experience the story of Fort William Henry as it unfolds during Siege Week, taking place Monday, August 3 through Sunday, August 9.
This special week-long experience will bring the 18th century to life through military activity, historic encounters, and living history moments throughout the Fort.
Special Weekend Programs
Tabletop Wargaming Demonstration
Saturday, August 8 and Sunday, August 9
Guests can take part in an interactive and educational tabletop gaming experience featuring miniature armies representing British, French, and Indigenous forces. Players will command troops across a large, detailed diorama of Fort William Henry while exploring the strategy and events surrounding the historic conflict.
Surrender Day Ceremony
Sunday, August 9
Fort William Henry will commemorate the historic surrender of the Fort. After enduring a siege by French forces that began on August 3, 1757, General Munro and the British forces surrendered on August 9.
The ceremony will include a reading of the terms of surrender and a wreath-laying ceremony at the military cemetery.
