AI and Sustainability: Considerations for Rural Communities, Energy, and the Environment

Explore how artificial intelligence can support rural communities and environmental sustainability while examining the opportunities, challenges and ethical considerations of data center development. This full-day workshop from the Adirondack Research Consortium will offer practical insights to help community leaders make informed decisions about emerging technologies, energy and future planning.

The program includes a keynote on artificial intelligence and machine learning for sustainable rural communities; panel discussions on rural AI applications and data centers; sessions on workforce development, public health, education, community resilience, energy infrastructure and economic development; community perspectives; ethical considerations; and facilitated small-group discussions.

Registration and networking begin at 8:30 AM, with programming from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Registration includes general admission, program materials and lunch. The event will be held at The Hyde Collection in Glens Falls.
