Join the Lake George Land Conservancy on Sunday, December 20, for the 2026 Christmas Bird Count, part of Audubons nationwide community science effort to track winter birds.
The local 15-mile count circle stretches from Amys Park to Pilot Knob Preserve and from the Schroon River to Sleeping Beauty and Black Mountain. Volunteers can observe along routes on foot, by car or boat, or count visitors at a bird feeder. Participants report their sightings, weather, and observation time to LGLC for inclusion in Audubons records.
Register through the event website by 5 p.m. Thursday, December 17. For participation details, contact Events and Fundraising Manager Janice Reynen at jreynen@lglc.org. Locations and participation times vary.
