REAL TIME REVOLUTION®: Honoring Veterans at Fort Ticonderoga

Step back 250 years and experience the American Revolution during a special one-day REAL TIME REVOLUTION® living history event at Fort Ticonderoga on Saturday, November 7, 2026.

In honor of Veterans Day, this immersive experience will salute the service of veterans in the defense of the United States, beginning with the citizen-soldiers of 1776.

Visitors will explore Fort Ticonderoga as it appeared in early November 1776, just one week after American forces successfully defended the fort. With George Washington's army retreating south, enlistments expiring and winter approaching, American soldiers faced critical decisions about what would come next.

Event Highlights

Cannon and Musket Demonstrations

Discover how American soldiers defended Ticonderoga in October 1776 through live cannon and musket demonstrations. Learn about the weapons, training and military strategies that helped secure the fort.

Liberty Hill Encampment

Explore daily life beyond the fort's walls, where thousands of American soldiers prepared for the harsh winter ahead. See the construction of simple wooden shelters and learn about the challenges of maintaining a large military encampment.

Historic Trades and Demonstrations

Experience the skills and craftsmanship essential to supporting the Continental Army, including:

• Sewing and preparing winter clothing

• Sailmaking and harness work

• Gunpowder and ammunition maintenance

• Teams of oxen hauling military supplies and personal belongings

Through hands-on activities and engaging demonstrations, visitors will gain a deeper understanding of the soldiers and families who helped shape the American Revolution.

Special Veterans Day Admission

In recognition of Veterans Day, FREE admission is offered to:

• Active military personnel

• Retired military personnel

• Fort Ticonderoga Members

• Ticonderoga Ambassador Pass Holders

Regular admission applies to other visitors.
