CIA grad Meg Bell brings events and catering sales skills and hospitality background to position
LAKE GEORGE, NY — New Jersey native, Meg Bell, brings her events and sales experience to the Lake George Regional Convention & Visitors Bureau (LGRCVB) as a Sales Manager. The LGRCVB is a division of the Lake George Regional Chamber of Commerce & CVB and an extension of the Warren County Tourism Department.
Bell began her career as a Catering Sales Coordinator at a wedding venue near her hometown of Bay Head, New Jersey, followed by a move to Nashville, Tennessee to work as an Event Services & Catering Manager at the Country Music Hall of Fame & Museum. After moving to Saratoga Springs in 2016, Bell sold and planned both on-premise and off-premise events as a Hall of Springs-based Catering Sales Manager for Mazzone Hospitality. She most recently gained experience in the hotel industry as an Events & Catering Sales Manager at the Saranac Waterfront Lodge in Saranac Lake, New York. Her most recent positions readied Bell for the variety of clients and types of meeting, event and sports business that are key to growing the Lake George area.
Bell’s position involves regular sales calls to the Albany/Capital Region based state associations and corporations in addition to regional and national contacts to ensure that the LGRCVB services are understood and made available regularly. Active participation in state, regional and national industry associations to maximize the visibility of the Lake George area are also priorities for Bell in her role. Overall, Bell will prospect and generate new business relationships to achieve booked business and overnight room goals, and secure future bookings that will meet or exceed rate and occupancy goals of the destination partners throughout the Lake George area.
“Meg brings a level of sales, communications and event logistic skills that will elevate our entire team. She’s able to demonstrate her understanding of clients’ needs and desire to serve them while radiating positive energy and a calming presence,” said Gina Mintzer, Executive Director of the Lake George Regional Chamber of Commerce & CVB.
“Throughout my career, I have gained valuable experience in event planning, sales, and hospitality management and I’m eager to utilize that knowledge in this role to support our clients, partners, community and our industry colleagues,” said Meg Bell.
As a frequent visitor to the area, Bell has come to appreciate the community and its offerings. “I understand what makes the region so unique and appealing to visitors and am confident my love of the area will translate into my selling process. I’m most excited about being in a position that has the opportunity to have a positive impact on the local economy by promoting and marketing Lake George and the Southern Adirondack area as a premiere destination for meetings, conventions, and all kinds of groups”.
Bell graduated from the Culinary Institute of America with an Associate’s Degree in Baking & Pastry Arts and a Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management.
