The New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) is set to host the 2023 Girls Volleyball State Championships on Saturday, November 18 and Sunday, November 19 at the Cool Insuring Arena in Glens Falls for the 17th consecutive year. The event will see four teams qualifying in each of six classes, with the newest Class AAA championship representing the largest schools in the state. The championship will be moving to a tournament-style bracket this year with an additional semi-final round. Previously, the winners of pool play went straight to the finals.
"The community of Glens Falls is excited to host the NYSPHSAA Girls Volleyball tournament once again,” said Peggy Seese, NYSPHSAA Girls Volleyball State Coordinator. “This year will be the first year with six classes and the tournament format has switched from pool play to bracketed 3 out of 5 semi and finals. The change will create a lot of new excitement when the best teams in the state come to the event to compete and try to win a state title."
Tickets are only available online. Admission is $10 per person ($11.50 with fees) which covers both days of competition. The event will be streamed on the NFHS Network, the official broadcasting partner of the NYSPHSAA State Championships.
