As a halfway point between Fort Edward and Fort William Henry, Glens Falls was the site of several battles during the French and Indian War and the Revolutionary War. Located in central downtown Glens Falls, the Chapman Museum presents the history of the Glens Falls – Queensbury community and its connection to the Adirondack region. The Hyde is one of the Northeast’s exceptional small art museums with distinguished collections of European and American art. Comparable to that of a major metropolitan museum, the core collection, acquired by Museum founders Louis and Charlotte Hyde, The Hyde offers significant national and international exhibitions, and a packed schedule of events that help visitors to experience art in new ways.
LARAC (Lower Adirondack Regional Arts Center was founded in 1972 by a coalition of arts-minded residents. Its mission is to enrich the quality of life in Warren, Washington, and Northern Saratoga Counties by supporting arts and culture. The Lapham Art Gallery and Shop features changing exhibits of fine arts and crafts created by local and regional artists.

Nearly 100 creative individuals work out of The Shirt Factory. There are a variety of shops that offer a wide range of products, professional services, working artists, galleries, classes, and more. In the summer The Shirt Factory also hosts a Market & Food Truck Corral on Thursdays.

The city is alive with places for you to be entertained! From the historic Park Theater to the Cool Insuring Arena, the area can bring a crowd in for all tastes and fans!
Step back in time at the Park Theater. Built in 1911, The Park Theater is a hot spot for concerts, events, theater and dance in vibrant downtown Glens Falls. The Charles R. Wood Theater is a year-round performing arts center with a 294 seat auditorium, fully professional and updated technical systems, a large rehearsal space, office space, technical set building space and fully ADA compliant dressing rooms. Nearly 350 events happen at the Wood Theater each year including theater performances, musicals, concerts, dance performances, meetings, parties, weddings, rehearsals, auditions and educational classes.
