This year marks the return of sports tournaments after a long and difficult year of cancelled events, empty seats, and athletes who had no seasons to look forward to. As Summer is in full swing, sports events are coming back into play!
Safety has become a minimum standard in the world of events and sports. Now, more than ever, the teams and tournaments are demonstrating their efforts to uphold those guidelines and still enjoy the game!
Prime Time Lacrosse at Gold Goal
Prime Time Lacrosse, based out of Massachusetts, brought 7,000 visitors, 175 teams, and people coming in from over 15 states to the Lake George Area. Using the Golden Goal Sports Park and school fields from local district, players were showcased among national college scouts who have come from 50+ colleges and universities in the past.
Diamond Kings Invitational Lake George
Firecracker Baseball joined us in July with a combined effort from schools and facilities in the community who just started opening up to the public. Over 50 teams played on local fields, ages 12-19,
Diamond Kings baseball hit grand slams at East Field and other facilities in the County along with the return of the summer Collegiate baseball team, the Glens Falls Dragons – part of the PGCBL League.
Alpha Win Triathlon Lake George
Alpha Win will offer Tri-camp and Triathlon Events on Lake George this August and September to continue the ongoing traditions hosting Cyclings, Runs, and Races at the any natural wonders of the Adirondack State Park.
Special Olympics State Fall Games
The return of the Special Olympics is an exciting and emotional announcement made to the community of Glens Falls- to be held this October at the Cool insuring Arena and various facilities in the surrounding area. State Fall Games athletes and coaches will compete in seven sports: bocce, cycling, golf equestrian, soccer, softball, and cross-country running.
