Tyler Poitras, originally from Saratoga Springs, returns to the area to continue his career as the Senior Sales Manager at the Lake George Regional Convention & Visitors Bureau (LGRCVB).
Poitras, a graduate of Johnson and Wales University in Rhode Island, began his hospitality career in 2015 at Walt Disney World, Florida, supervising multiple Food & Beverage locations including; Hollywood Studios and Wilderness Lodge. Looking to expand his knowledge in the hospitality industry, Tyler joined the Team at Disney’s Pop Century Resort working as Concierge and Operations Support, eventually shifting to Front Desk Supervisor.
In 2021, Poitras returned to the area, working in the finance sector for Trustco Bank as their Senior Universal Banker - eventually transitioning to a Business Banker. At this time, he led multiple branches to grow business in Saratoga, Warren and Washington Counties. Poitras then joined KeyBank to enter a training course and complete his exam to become a Financial Advisor.
Poitras’ position involves regular sales calls to the Albany/Capital Region based state associations and corporations in addition to regional and national contacts to ensure that the LGRCVB services are understood and made available regularly. Active participation in state, regional and national industry associations to maximize the visibility of the Lake George area are also priorities for Poitras. Overall, Poitras will prospect and generate new business relationships to achieve booked business and overnight room goals, and secure future bookings that will meet or exceed rate and occupancy goals of the destination partners throughout the Lake George area.
Q: What makes you excited to work here?
A: Combining my hospitality and sales background was important for me when determining my future. I am excited to utilize my knowledge to help grow travel and tourism in the Lake George region.
Q: What are some of your favorite things to do in the Lake George region?
A: Trying new restaurants, going out on the lake, biking.
Q: What's a fun fact about yourself!
A: I am working on visiting every Major League Baseball Stadium. I have already visited 10 of 30.
The LGRCVB is a division of the Lake George Regional Chamber of Commerce & CVB and works as an extension of the Warren County Tourism Department.
